We are home to eight Dales Ponies. We are fortunate to be located in Tewksbury, New Jersey, the heart of New Jersey's equestrian playground! The Dales is a rare breed from the UK. They are a sturdy draft pony that stands anywhere from 13 hands to 15 hands. These ponies are absolutely stunning to behold and they are wonderful to handle. They are called "The Great All Rounder" because they can truly do it all! Some of our Dales drive and others excel in dressage and even eventing. Wherever we go people are dying to know - "what breed is that!?! - is that a Friesian?" Not too many people have heard of the Dales as their numbers are around 300 for North America and they are truly spread all over the continent. Because they are a draught pony, even standing at 13 hands they are capable of carrying adults. I feel they are an ideal choice for older riders that want something sound and sane and perhaps a bit lower to the ground than their old 17 hand hunter.
My daughter and I have been enjoying doing low level eventing these last few years - we are currently both showing at Beginner Novice level. We also try and attend as many hunter paces as humanly possible. They charge through water and over anything you point them at. They will also stand stock still and let you get your mail or fiddle with a gate. They are very calm and very intelligent. Take a look at our Dales and feel free to come and visit.
